Our school is registered with the Eco-Schools Programme and this year (2013) we have achieved the Silver Award.
We are committed to teaching our little learners about the importance of:
- Healthy living: being active and eating healthily. The projects in the school for this theme are: gardening, physical activity, tables and lessons on eating healthy.
- Resource Use: Reduce, reuse, recycle. With the children, we have bins marked with photos of what belongs in each bin. They are encouraged to wash a recycle yoghurt cups, paper, organic waste from their lunch boxes, and garden waste.
- We combine the two above themes by having a farmyard with animals, and we grow vegetables, collect garden waste and organic kitchen waste for compost, and collect animal waste to add to the compost.
